If you need help when we are closed

Between 6.00pm and 8.00am and at weekends and public holidays, our telephone lines divert to the Manx Emergency Doctor Service.

Out-of-hours services are generally busy so please think carefully before asking to see a doctor and only do so if you genuinely cannot wait until the surgery re-opens.

For advice and treatment for minor illnesses such as coughs, colds, sore throats, aches, pains or tummy trouble, visit a pharmacy. Pharmacists are highly-trained qualified healthcare professionals and you don’t need an appointment. Some are open until late and at weekends. Find a pharmacy

Call 999 in a medical or mental health emergency. This is when someone is:

  • Short of breath and/or chest pains.
  • Seriously ill or injured and their life is at risk.

If you need help with your appointment

Please tell us:

  • If you would prefer to consult with the doctor or nurse by phone.
  • If you need an interpreter.
  • If you have any other access or communication needs.

At your appointment

Ramsey Group Practice has an extended team of highly-skilled, experienced health professionals ready to help our patients. Some of these roles might be new to you if you don't use our service often, so our doctors, nurses and health professionals have put these short videos together to explain what they do.

We also remind patients that:

  • Patients under 14 should be accompanied by an adult.
  • Only one patient can be seen per appointment.
  • While we do our best to run on time with appointments, emergencies and delays can and do happen when caring for patients. You might need the same attention one day so we're grateful for your patience if this happens. The admin team will do their best to inform you of any delays.

Home Visits

Please expect one of our admin team members to ask for some details so that the doctor may assess the degree of urgency. They are not being nosey or intrusive and are following the GP's instructions.
